MythMakers 8 Michael Craze |
A Review by Stuart Gutteridge 4/7/00
"I wanted to go out with a bang. I would have preferred Ben to have been killed off."
Although the subject material is somewhat dated, this interview tape is worthy because of the subject matter. Michael Craze comes across as a likeable person, who simply enjoyed doing his job. The Doctor Who recollections are pretty much what you`d expect; he enjoyed working with Patrick Troughton better than William Hartnell and he doesn`t recall The Underwater Menace as being his favourite story, for example.
Interspersed with older interview footage, taken from when he was running a bar, this tape does tend to border on padding, with nearly all of the interview topics returning to Doctor Who. This could hardly be described as a tribute tape, but one which does seem to sum up the late Michael Craze and his time as Ben on the show rather well.
