The End is Near...

Sunday

Sunday morning came early, much like Saturday morning had. I woke up around 7am and got up around 7:30. And, for once in the weekend, I didn't eat anything. (You know I'm tired when I'm not even hungry!) We packed up our stuff and then Steph and I went to wait in line for Sylv's autograph. Since I'd already gotten his autograph, I basically wanted to scope out all the photos at the table (even though Kathy had purchased the two key photos that I'd wanted). Steph and I waited with Lori. Then I bought almost $50 of Sylv photos. (Have any of you seen the "Leather Jacket" photo? I know that Judi has and she's envious of it...)

When I had Sylv sign one of the photos, I asked him about the knicker elastic sketch he'd done. I thought I'd heard that Ken Campbell had done the bit that Sylv had done the night before and at first, Sylv thought maybe they'd switched around. But as he thought more, he said that Ken was the puller and Sylv with the elastic in his mouth. But then they'd do it AGAIN and this time he wasn't allowed to let go and would take it full on the face. Poor fellow - the things you do for fame...

I met Terry Walsh for the first time in an autograph line (though I'd talked with him several times in the elevator - his room was one floor below ours) and he signed my "high school yearbook" program. He and Lisa were surprised by all the autographs in it. (Yup, that's all you PMEBers that were there. The autographs which mean more to me than the celebs.) Lisa signed my book as well as the cover of my "Oh No It Isn't" tape. Then, because I'd already gotten two autographs each of Caroline and Geoffrey, I asked if I could get a photo of the two of them. They're such a lovely couple.

As we left the autograph room, we found out that the line for Mark's photos hadn't even started yet, so Lori and I raced over to the line, followed by Shel and her magic video camera. Then we saved places for Elsa, a woman from the 11th floor, and any other PMEBers who arrived (like Steph and Judi. Fess up, Judi, you REALLY wanted to cuddle Mark!)

The attendant at the door was happy to see so many people lining up. She said that Mark was afraid no one would want to have their photos with him since they'd had them with the rest of the Who guests. Poor fellow just doesn't get it... :)

Mark was absolutely charming at the photo session and talked to each one of us as we got our photos taken. My favorite picture is still the one where he put his head on mine. *sigh* (I still think that's such a goofy expression on my face.)

One problem with being in line for the photos was that I was SUPPOSED to be at an internet panel. Last year when I was in one, I think I said maybe one or two things, so I wasn't worried that they couldn't go on without me. When I arrived at the room, the session was cancelled. Turns out no one showed up. (Actually, a few came later and they did the panel anyway.) But I took the opportunity to get my luggage, go through the dealer's room one last time (and talked with Tim Saward about the Sylv and Sophie audios), and have massive farewells.

I left Visions at 10 til noon. And as the shuttle pulled out, I saw Elsa taking a group photo. It was great to see it on her page, too. :)

The flight home was on time (for once) and uneventful (as usual) and I dropped off my photos on the way. They be done and if you've not checked out http://www.pagefillers.com/travel/v98.html do so now!
