31 Days – 31 Books (day 21)

Back home and it’s a good thing! Hope to have trip photos up later this week.

Day21 – most stupid book you read at school

Hmmm, I wonder if the author of this meme disliked reading school assigned books with the description “most stupid” there. As with “hate,” “stupid” is too strong of a word for me. At least regarding books.

Most of the stuff I read for elementary and high school, I really enjoyed. I actually read my 8th grade literature book from cover to cover (well, not all of the related questions, but the stories & poetry within it). I remember when we were assigned A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, those of us who were actually reading the novel convinced those who were only reading the Cliff Notes (remember. no Internet in those bad ol’ days) to read the book, we were so into it.

However… there was one book that we were assigned to read which I did not like. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. *sigh* That book just has no sense of humor. There is a part of me that wonders if I should reread the book now that I’m an adult and more worldly… But no, too many other things to read & reread.
