123456!

Today a milestone was achieved and I commemorated it with a photo!

123456!

Who’da thunkit that back in January 1994 when I was buying my first car that I’d reach such a milestone with it. judiang was with me when she passed 100k and we both cheered. And I think I washed the car shortly afterward to celebrate. (The only other time I washed her was when I paid her off.) Haven’t decided if I’ll wash her a third time or not. (Always afraid that any dirt might be holding bits together & washing the car will only screw that up.)

(Edited to correct the year on the car which elsaf spotted.)

  1. Hoohdoggie! Cake ‘n candles all around! I was always inordinately proud that my 1980 Ford Fairmont lasted for 180,000 miles, 150,000 of which I put on myself; actually, it probably lasted beyond that, I just finally had the means and initiative to finally replace it, and did so (with the first of the two Nissan Altimas I still miss to this very day). I never washed it for the exact same reasons, and I’ve gotta say, I was virtually invisible to cops in that car; Josh finally pointed out to me that at night people would always slow down around me cos they thought *I* was a cop car! Are you a BNL fan? I used to be, not so much anymore owing to Painful Ex Associations, but I still think their cover of “Fight the Power” is one cover version equal to if not surpassing the original. 🙂

    1. Well, my car doesn’t look too bad. It’s green and hides the dust well. And when we get big rains, I’ll often pull it out of the garage for a natural wash. However, some of the local kitties do LOVE to walk all over it with muddy paws, so there’s almost always paw prints all over the car. As for the Barenaked Ladies, I enjoy their music but I wouldn’t say I was a “fan.” Not in the way that I’m a Neil Innes, Monkees, Beatles, Chumbawamba, Pet Shop Boys fan. And of all the musical groups which I love, the only one I’ve seen in concert is the Squirrel Nut Zippers. 🙂

  2. Not only do you win at life for getting to this point, but you win at the universe and everything for actually taking a photo of it and sharing. (Here speaks a person who gleefully cheers when she spots the clock at 11:11 or 3:33 etc) 😀

    1. Yeah – I love to see number combos like that too. So I was excited when I realized how close I was to 123456. I was afraid I’d forget to pull over & take a photo, so I took a few close to it just in case. (So I also have a photo of 123426 and a couple of other preliminaries.)
